I regret to inform you that my laptop crapped out on me last night. My battery has been unable to hold a charge for longer than 30 minutes for months now. I should have done something when this first happened, but I didn't care that much because it worked fine as long as I kept it plugged in. All was fine and dandy until my charger broke last night. I brought it to Best Buy to have it replaced but they told me I had to call "the hotline" to have the parts ordered because they don't keep them in stock. Although it sucks not having a laptop, I still have my desktop to keep my busy. Unfortunatly, the podcasts that I was planning to release this week and the next are trapped on my laptop. I will release them as soon as I get a new battery/charger, but until then I have nothing. I'll try to record something as soon as I can, but I'm not making promises on exact dates.
In the meantime, Borders is going out of business. While this is a sad thing to report there is still some good in the news. Great deals on manga (and other books too). I can't speak for every Borders, but the one I went to last night had all manga marked 50% off. I picked up a volume of 20th Century Boys as well as the second Haruhi novel and the first Wicked City novel for less than 20 dollars. I know a lot of you kids love your scanlations, but light novel translations are a lot harder to come by. I can't confirm this date, but the clerk said that she thinks the store will be closed for good by the end of the month.
UPDATE: I just did a quick Google search and found no evidence that ALL stores are closing down. There was no doubt that the store I went to was shutting down, but that was just one store in a crappy mall. I do know that the company has been having financial problems for some time now, so they might just be cutting back on the less profitable stores.

Leaving your battery in while on an will cause it to be topped up which will eventually cause wear but you will need the battery for a backup.

Which Borders was that?

The one inside of Crossroads mall in Waite Park. From the little research I did, they're only closing small stores. However, if sales continue to suck, the big stores will likely be next.

Damn, I was hoping it was closer.
