FAQ
How do you make a podcast?
Since I started the podcast a year ago, many people have asked me how to create a podcast. At first, I was just happy to be getting emails so I would help them out the best I could. When I started to notice that almost none of those people actually started a podcast, I decided that writing lengthy how to podcast guides wasn’t for me. I can give you tips if you have a specific problem, but I’m not going to teach you everything. Seriously, all you need to do is plug a mic into your computer and push record. Why is that so difficult to figure out on your own?
Can I be on the podcast?
Unless I ask you myself, probably not.
Every once and while someone will ask to be on the show. Sometimes they beg. I’m the type of person that likes to let people down easy, so I often tell them, “Maybe.” In truth, unless you have a podcast yourself, or I ask you personally, your chances of being on the show are slim. I’m not trying to be an asshole. Some people just aren’t meant for [internet] radio. Most of these people don’t realize this fact. The other reason is because I’m not a very social person if I don’t know you. It may come as a surprise, but unless I approach you first, I’m usually not that talkative. There are exceptions to this, but they are rare. If you really really really want to be on the show then leave me a voice-mail. Unless it’s just a review request, I usually play all the voice-mail. I just never seem to get any.
When are you going to review X show?
When I review X show.
I’m not sure why, but the majority of the review requests that I get are for super long shonen fighting shows. More likely than not, I’m not going to watch a 100+ episode show just because you asked me too. What makes even less sense is that these people are already watching them. Don’t you know if the show is good if you’re already watching it? If you wanna hear me make jokes about the show then tell me a specific episode or arc that you think is funny. The other requests I get are for really awful harem/moe shows. I do intend to watch Clannad and Kanon so I can complete the dreaded moe triad, but most of these shows are boring and unfunny and I’m not going to watch 26 episodes of the same joke, even if you ask really nicely. If you do happen to request a show that I’m interested in watching, I’ll bump it up a bit on my list. This has happened before with Baki the Grappler, Kekko Kamen, and Mad Bull 34.
