Ria May 12, 2009 at 11:13 pm: Well I have to agree with you there. It was hard to deal with Haruhi’s rude manners and self centeredness from episode to episode. And to think she was powerful enough to create her own universe. I’m glad I don’t have to live in it.

“The world she Wanted” by Philip K Dick. Has a Haruhi-esque main character in and shares a lot of elements with the general “feel” of Haruhi overall, including the “glad I dont live in it” element.
Its in the “Second Variety” short story collection.
