News: Final Fantasy IX on the PSN

by fightbait on May 8, 2010

Listen up, jerks! Here's the news: Final Fantasy VII sucks. That's right, you read correctly, and there's nothing you can do about it. So why don't you take your Cloud and Sephiroth plushies and go cry in the corner you little bitch. There's a new dog in town and it's going to rape your PS3. It's a little game I like to call Final Fantasy IX.

While I may not own a PS3 myself, Final Fantasy IX is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. The story doesn't make any sense, but when was the last time a Final Fantasy game did? Call me bias, but I think this game will make a great addition to any collection. I'm especially excited by the prospect of being able to play it on a PSP (another device that I don't own). You know what, if Sony puts enough old school games that I want (Legend of Legaia, I'm looking at you) in their online store, I might actually consider purchasing their overpriced consoles. After all, I'm the guy that bought a PS2 so I could play PS1 games.

They haven't announced a release date for this game yet, but I can't imagine it taking more than a month or two. However, I have no idea how long it takes to port a game, let alone how far alone in the process they currently are. In the meantime, check out our arguably mediocre review of Final Fantasy IX.

And before you flame me for hating on Final Fantasy VII, I was just kidding. It's true that I like Final Fantasy IX more than Final Fantasy VII, but they're both pretty solid games.
