Podcast: Download
It’s another all news episode of The Anime Show. Since I was on “vacation” I didn’t have anytime to watch anything. That’s probably for the best, however. Even without any of the other segments this is nearly two hours long. Maybe I need to start being a little more picky when choosing news items.
I tried something news this time with the audio. Normally the podcast is a 96kbps file. This one is 64kbps. I figured since it’s only talking that the lowered bit-rate wouldn’t make too much of a difference. In layman’s terms, that means faster download time and more room on your mp3 player for other stuff.

This podcast was good, but ill be honest, you haven’t been doing anything but manga Monday for the last few weeks, Whiskey Thursday and STARcast are still gone, Ryan hasn’t been on the podcast in a few months, and your not really reviewing much on THIS show. All that being said you still have a good podcast, and I’m honestly not trying to be a dick, but I figured since I’m a jerk and too lazy to send an email, is leave this in a comment.

Ha! I don’t think you’re being a dick. I’m actually happy that you’re being so honest. The reason podcasts have been weird lately is because real life keeps happening. In a perfect world I could do this as my job, but that isn’t the case. Ever since I got back from my internship I’ve been working 40+ hours at Domino’s. What little time I do have off I’ve been spending with my girlfriend. I really haven’t had much time to watch anything, so that’s why there haven’t been many reviews.
Whiskey Thursday is going to stay dead for a while. Maybe forever. Not sure yet. I really don’t miss doing it. If it does come back the show will be much short and on its own website.
STARcast has a better chance of returning, just not yet. I think that show works best in seasons. I’m starting school back up in October, so I anticipate there’s going to be a lot I want to talk about. If I was still doing it now, every episode would be about Domino’s. No one wants that.
As for Ryan, he will be on the next episode. We already have those segments recorded. Hopefully that episode will be out in a few days, if not sooner.
Thanks for telling me what’s up. I’m not going to lie about being slightly depressed over the current coma that Whiskey Thursday lies in, but its good to know you did not die!
I wouldn’t mind Domino’s drama on STARcast. Besides, depending on who you have on as your co-host, you’d also have stories and stuff from their side.
So, about Archie comics! The Archie characters have been carrying on in comics for decades with different creative teams working on them. Just take a look at the racks by the check-out counters of your local grocery stores. They got big enough back in the day that they formed their own publishing brand; putting out mostly licensed character titles. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures was one of their biggest.
Reading beyond the story’s headline, it’s not Mega Man and Sonic buddying up with Archie & the gang, as it may sound. Sonic’s been their other HUGE success for the past ~20 years. Mega Man got his own title a couple years ago. The news from that story is that Sonic and Mega Man are about to do a cross-over comic, still published by Archie Comics.
BTW, Archie Comics recently made news by introducing a gay couple into the Archie cast. Bravo! Especially for a publisher geared toward comics for kids.
