Whiskey Thursday ep001: Afro Samurai's Suck at Poetry!

As promised, here is the surprise--A BRAND NEW PODCAST! Don't worry, this isn't a replacement show; it's an additional show. After months of intensive editing, I thought, "Why can't I do a show with little to no editing?" Well, that's exactly what this is. So before you go pointing the finger and saying, "Fightbait's getting lazy." know that the main show will remain as is. The format will change a bit, but its still going to be a serious look at anime (at least as serious as its been). This new show doesn't claim to be a source of imformation, its just for fun, so please take it for what it is.

Now the name is misleading. It's a reference to a day that I made up with my cohost when we lived together. We actually aren't drunk during th recording at all. Maybe one of these days, but drunk recording sounds complicated, and we get off topic enough as it is. This show will cover a range of topics. Basically, whatever we feel like. This episode is about video games. The second one is about living with a homeless drunk. The third one is about an OVA we watched. Yeah, thats right, we recorded these in advanced. I figured we'd better so I could avoid the show being late. Its useless to call a show Whiskey Thursday if it comes out on Saturday.

I'm not sure how long this addition will last, but hopefully for a few months at least. I'm working on another show as well. I can't make any promises though. If it does happen, it will most likely be a biweekly thing released every other Tuesday.

At the time of the recordings we hadn't started our email account yet and we just used the fightbait@gmail.com account. Since then I've started two account for this show. Since we haven't gotten any emails yet, I haven't decided which one to use. So if you have any feedback (and please send it. Anything at all. Even if you're just going to say that we're stupid bitches and we're ripping off Dave & Joel) you can send it to whiskeythursday@gmail.com or whiskeythursday@fightbait.com.

Well, I think that's enough for now. I hope you enjoy the episode. I know its kind of like a really obscene episode of Fast Karate. I listen to that show a lot and I wanted to try out their format (or lack thereof). Think of it as a tribute is anything. I'm sure in time we'll establish our own way of doing things, but we needed a place to start.

I guess Way of the Samurai 3 is coming out in Japan this November. Too bad neither of us have a PS3...or speak fluent Japanese.
